Man Smokes Weed, Forgets His ABCs

A Warrensville man was pulled over for not using his turn signal, and police found he was high

There are at least two things they teach you in school: Your ABCs and to not do drugs. Andre Stevens, 21, of Warrensville, must have missed those days.

Twinsburg police stopped Stevens in the Taco Bell parking lot on Darrow Road for not using his turn signal when changing lanes.

When officers came up to his car, they detected the faint smell of marijuana. It didn't help Stevens that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy and that he appeared to be groggy. He told police he smoked "half a blunt" 30 minutes earlier.

The canine unit did a search of the car and found a marijuana bud under the driver's seat and remnants all around the car. When they told him what they found Stevens just smiled and shook his head.

Stevens had to undergo a sobriety test, which he did poorly on. As he was reciting the alphabet, he couldn't get past the letter "O," but did go back to "E."
