Man with Seven Prior Charges Arrested Again for Drunken Driving

Police observed him driving intoxicated near Heisley and Hendricks roads

Mentor Police arrested a man with a long rap sheet Tuesday for driving drunk near the intersection of Heisley and Hendricks roads.

Police arrested 44-year-old Thomas J. Wright at 8:46 p.m. after receiving a call from a resident, Lt. Tim Allen said. Officers observed his impaired driving for a short while before pulling him over.

"He was driving under an (Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated) suspension at the time we stopped him," Allen said.

Wright already had seven drunken driving charges on his record. Additionally, the Mentor resident has a pending drunken driving case in Eastlake.

Wright was also charged with driving under suspension and a marked lane violation. He was arraigned Wednesday in Mentor Muncipal Court and remains in jail on a bond worth 10 percent of $33,000. His next court date is Nov. 15.

everyone deserves a chance after they make mistakes April. You shouldn't be so quick to judge.

All I have to say is James Cline. Pretty much a life sentence and 2 people dead and one handicapped for life. Lock this piece of human garbage away. Taking his license away won't stop him from driving.

They should just cut off his feet so he can't use the pedals.
