One Day in Twinsburg, Two Cases of Fraud

Twinsburg police received two separate reports of fraudulent charges on June 9

June 9 was a busy day for Twinsburg police officers dealing with fraud.

In one case a 43-year-old Sandalwood Trail woman reported someone took $300 out of her checking account by using her debit card. She told officers she used it a few days ago to go shopping and got a call from her bank asking her if she withdrew money from California later that day. The told her the withdrawl happened earlier in the day and advised her to cut up her card.

Later on June 9, a 31-year-old Altmont Drive man told police someone used his debit card to buy a wireless printer from a Florida company for $110. When he called them, the company wouldn't tell him where the printer was shipped to, but they did say his card number, PIN number, and billing zip code were used in the transaction.
