Police: Belmeadow Thief Caught After He Was Robbed at Gunpoint

Macedonia police arrested Clayton Anderson on separate thefts, but linked him to a string of thefts on Belmeadow Drive in Twinsburg

The man accused of committing a in Twinsburg last week was caught after he was robbed at gunpoint in Twinsburg Township, according to Macedonia police.

Lt. Vince Yakopovich said Clayton Anderson, 27, has already pleaded guilty to theft charges at a recent arraignment and could face up to 30.

After a string of similar thefts in Macedonia, one resident caught Anderson's car on a security camera. Police found that car at a local hotel.

However, Anderson was arrested on April 24 after he was robbed at gunpoint in Twinsburg Township, where he was trying to sell an iPod docking station that he stole from a Belmeadow resident.

He reported his own robbery to the local sheriff's office and was then arrested on a warrant from Boston Heights police.

Boston Heights released him several hours later, when Macedonia picked him up for theft. When they searched his hotel room they found a hoard of stolen items, including many that were reported in the Belmeadow cases.

Anderson has been linked to thefts in Macedonia, Northfield Center and Twinsburg.

Anderson is still in Macedonia jail. Yakopovich said there are many stolen items that still need recovered.
