Police: Drunken Driver Smashes Car, Forgets
The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.
A West Idlewood Drive man was arrested last week after he hit a parked car and drove away while he was drunk, according to police.
John Tylek, 43, was charged with drunken driving and leaving the scene of a crash after he hit a car in the RAV's Creekside parking lot on Sept. 20 and then driving away.
The car's owner called police after she was told her car had been hit. A witness said she heard screeching tires and saw a car hit a parked car and leave.

Police found the car described by the witness sitting in the Walgreen's parking lot "parked over the curb, in the tree lawn, diagonally across a few parking spaces," according to the report.
Officers said they smelled alcohol on Tylek, but he told them he had a drink a few days ago, which he later confessed to drinking at RAV's earlier.

Tylek failed the field sobriety tests, according to the report, and was arrested for drunken driving.
Police asked if he hit a car earlier and Tylek said he didn't recall.
Officers found a piece of trim stuck to Tylek's car that matched a piece missing from the parked car.
