An anonymous tip led to the 2300 block of Sherwin Drive on Aug. 27, where a man was allegedly growing marijuana in his grandmother's house.
According to police, the caller said the grandson stayed there during the week because he had multiple sclerosis and was legally blind and needed to be taken to doctors appointments.
When police got to the home, the grandmother answered the door and said her grandson was up in his room smoking marijuana with his friends.
She agreed to let police search the home and they found the grandson and two other men in his room smoking marijuana.
In the room police said they found the following:
- 30 glass and plastic smoking devices
- Two containers with marijuana plants growing on the window sill
- Three containers with marijuana plants growing in the closet under a light in aluminum foil
He told police he grows marijuana for personal use and doesn't sell it.
The grandson was cited for drug possession, cultivation and paraphernalia and given a court date.
