Police Officers Use Taser On Aggresive Teen

The information in this report is from the Twinsburg Police. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A 17-year-old Twinsburg teen was tasered and arrested after police say he attempted to steal from a gas station and then became aggressive after he was caught, according to a police report.

On April 10 at 10:15 p.m., a Twinsburg Police officer was working security at GetGo on Hadden Road when the officer observed a 17-year-old teen take a bottle of juice and put it in his pants. The officer confronted the teen and tried to place him in handcuffs, the teen became aggressive, according to the police report.

The report said the teen would not comply with officers' orders and was in a "fighting stance with clenched fists," according to the report.

After further attempts to calm the teen down, officers used a Taser on the teen and he was taken into custody, according to the report.

He was referred to Summit County juvenile court on charges of theft and resisting arrest.

The teen was released from custody to his father.
