Sly Man Tries to Steal Meat; Security Wrestles Him to the Ground

A 33-year-old Windham man tried to pull a fast one at the Twinsburg Giant Eagle only to be subdued twice by a security guard

What at first was a case of shoplifting quickly turned into a WWE wrestling match at a local grocery store.

On May 10 Twinsburg police were called to the on Darrow Road when a man tried to steal from the store and got into a fight with the security guard.

The store security guard said Richard Cisar, 33, of Windham, walked his shopping cart into the meat section, dropping several packages in the cart and did the same in the frozen foods section.

He said Cisar then pushed the shopping cart past the cash registers and out the door, as if no one noticed. The guard confronted him outside and made him return to the store.

When he told Cisar they were calling police, Cisar got angry and bolted for the door. That started a wrestling match between the two. When it looked like Cisar was finally going to cooperate, he tried to take off again on the way to the manager's office.

The security guard and another employee were able to subdue Cisar and hold him until police got there.

Officers found a hypodermic needle on Cisar, who admitted he was a heroin addict and that's why he was stealing. He was charged with robbery and possession of a drug abuse instrument.

The worker who helped subdue him suffered minor bruises and an asthma attack during the scuffle.
