The female student suffered no major injuries and was released from the Cleveland Clinic's Twinsburg campus

Story updated at 2:50 p.m.

The female student struck by a car in the bus parking lot of this morning is now home with no major injuries, according to Superintendent Kathryn Powers.

Powers said the student was hit by a mother dropping off her child and didn't see the girl walking in front of her. Powers said administrators in the parking lot believed sun glare was the cause of the accident.

The student took most of the impact to her leg and was transported to the Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg Family Health and Surgery Center, according to Powers. Principal Louise Teringo said she was released and and expects to be at school tomorrow.

"This is just a reminder to everyone to use caution while driving in the parking lot," Powers said.
