Twinsburg Girl Ran Away From Home, Found a Day Later

A 14-year-old Twinsburg girl ran away from home because of problems at school and with her parents, and the discovery of a secret Facebook account helped locate her

One of the scariest moments a parent can experience is to wake up to find your child has run away.

On April 18 the mother of a 14-year-old Twinsburg girl experienced just that. When the woman went to wake her daughter up for school, she was gone.

She left a note saying because of an incident the Friday before at school she couldn't show her face.

She called police and told them her daughter ran away. The girl's phone was shut off and taken away from her several days earlier.

The mother told police her daughter had been talking to a Maple Heights man. After looking at her Facebook profile, police saw she was talking to the man at 1:30 a.m. telling him she was leaving the house.

The next day the the girl's father told police his sons had found a secret Facebook profile. Police were able to use it to track her. She was staying at a friend's house in Woodmere.

Woodmere police picked her up and brought her home.
