UPDATE: Twinsburg police confiscated a Glock handgun from a 57-year-old Twinsburg man who said he fired a shot over the head of intruders as they ran from his home, according to a police report.

But it's unclear if intruders were really there or if the man, who was taking lots of medication and was visibly confused while officers questioned him, was imagining things. His wife told police that its possible he dreamed the incident.

According to the report, the man said he was sleeping when he heard voices. He went down to his front door, thinking it was his kids, when he saw strangers in his yard.

He went upstairs to grab his Glock 40-caliber pistol, opened his front door and fired a round at an angle over the strangers' heads.

The man willingly gave the gun to police, who took it to the station and have it locked away as evidence. The incident is under investigation.

A Twinsburg man fired his pistol in the area after he thought intruders had entered his home in the early morning hours of Nov. 30, according to Twinsburg Police.

The man told police that he believed that there were three intruders in his Darrow Road home. He said that he fired his gun in the air and that the three people ran away, according to the police report.

But when officers arrived at the man's home, he said that now he was unsure if anyone had broken into his home, but he did say they ran through his front yard and took one of his extension ladders.

Police searched the area but did not find anyone. They also found that the ladder the man thought stolen was not missing, according to the report.

The case is under investigation.
