A Twinsburg man reported to police on March 9 that he was involved in an online scam in London, England.

The Champion Trail man tried to buy a used car online from a seller by the name of "Helena MT." He was told to wire $2,950 to a person in London who was the eBay representative.

He told officers he got multiple e-mails assuring him his money was taken care of by an official eBay account and it would be held until he received his purchase.

Of course, after transferring the money he found out the e-mails were not actually from eBay and that it was a scam.
