Twinsburg Man's ID Used to Charge Thousands to Credit Cards

A man in Arizona used the ID of a Twinsburg resident to charge $17,000 on credit cards

Credit card debt is a tough issue to overcome, especially when a stranger on the other end of the country is charging things to your account.

An Ashcroft Drive man went to Twinburg police on May 9 and told them how a man from Arizona fraudulently opened several credit cards using his identification. After the cards were opened, the Arizona man charged $17,000 on them.

The Twinsburg man said he found out about the scheme in November 2010 and the man admitted to the fraud. He promised to repay the debt in an agreement made between the two.
