Twinsburg Police 'Torch' The Pavement For A Great Cause

Officers biked four miles in the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

The Twinsburg Police Department had three officers carry the torch (literally and figuratively) in Wednesday's leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

This is the eighth year the department ha participated in the event, preceding the opening of the Special Olympics in Columbus.

They carried the torch four miles from the CVS parking lot near the Solon border to Marcelita's where it was handed off to officers in Hudson.

The team raised $735 for the Special Olympics, easily eclipsing its goal of $500.

"It's a lot more than we normally do," Lt. Bob Gonsiewski said, who rode alongside Dan Fidoe and Robert Waltz for the department.
