Twinsburg Police Welcome New Volunteer Chaplain

Father David Trask will begin serving the department on July 1

The will welcome a new face when July begins.

Father David R. Trask will serve the department as the volunteer chaplain starting July 1, according to a press release from the department.

Trask is the pastor at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Macedonia. He has been there since May 2000.

Ordained in 1986, Trask's first parrish was in Twinsburg, where he served until 1991. He has also been a pastor for churches in Cleveland and Strongsville and served for the United States Air Force Reserves during the first Gulf War.

His duties for the department will include providing support and spiritual counsel to members of the police department, assisting department members during and after critical incidents, and assisting officers with death notifications.

Trask takes the place of the . Maxey is now the senior pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Toledo.
