Woman Charged After Smashing Beer Bottle in Man's Face

The following information was provided by the Twinsbug Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Broadview Heights woman is accused of striking a man in the face with a beer bottle in the early morning of July 4 at .

Multiple witnesses said Sallia Martin, 19, threw the victim's chair to the ground, picked up a beer bottle and smashed it in his face. This was also confirmed by video surveillance at the bar.

Martin, who admitted to the incident, told she was standing up for her grandfather's girlfriend after a group of men were laughing at her while she was dancing at the bar.

The victim was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for his injuries. According to the report he had a laceration to his forehead, close to his eye.

Martin was charged with felonious assault and underage consumption. Her grandfather's girlfriend was also charged with providing alcoholic drinks to an underage person.

Police did advise the owner of Sassy's that they could be charged with allowing underage consumption.
