AP: Twinsburg Water Rates on the Rise

The Associated Press reports Cleveland City Council voted in favor of raising water rates

If you're a fan of long showers, this is bad news for you.

The Associated Press reports that Cleveland City Council approved a water rate increase Monday night.

According to the AP, "the average customer in Cleveland will see their quarterly bill for water rise from about $46.50 to more than $84 in 2015."

Cleveland's Division of Water serves 1.2 million customers in Northeast Ohio in 72 communities, including Twinsburg, they report.

The rate hike was necessary to maintain the water quality, Darnell Brown, Cleveland's chief operating officer, told city council. The measure was approved by a 10-8 vote.
