Cleveland Magazine Rates the Suburbs: Where Does Twinsburg Rank?

Cleveland Magazine released its annual Rating the Suburbs issue. Twinsburg ranked among the best for the fourth year in a row.

is the third-best suburb in Cleveland, according to Cleveland Magazine's annual "Rating the Suburbs" issue.

The city has ranked in the top three for four consecutive years. In 2012, it is listed behind Bay Village and Solon.

Aimed at helping house hunters, the magazine's rankings consider everything from safety to shopping districts. In Twinsburg's case, the 's performance and low taxes combine to make the city a desirable place to live.

"The city is well-laid-out and well-balanced: homes to the north, industry to the south, retail and commercial businesses in between," according to the report on Twinsburg.

The report also touted Twinsburg's athletic teams and Mayor Katherine Procop's belief that 600 new jobs will be added to the city's tax base this year.

Here are some highlights from Twinsburg's ranking:

  • The city has the 15th best schools
  • Its median home sale price is $215,000, compared to $232,500 in nearby Aurora and $250,000 in Solon.
  • Residents can expect to pay $1,670 in taxes, which is lower than all neighboring communities.
