Council to Talk Solon Jail Agreement, Recycling Program

Twinsburg City Council meets tonight at 7 p.m. at City Hall

Solon has already discussed housing some of Twinsburg's inmates, now it's the city's turn. Twinsburg City Council will discuss this and other topics tonight at 7 p.m. at the .

the agreement has been preliminarily approved by Solon's law department. City councils in both cities must first approve of the contract.

The proposed two-year deal says Twinsburg will pay Solon $75 per prisoner per day. A day counts as eight hours. Any prisoner who stays for less than a day will cost Twinsburg $42.50.

Twinsburg City Council is expected to vote on the resolution tonight.

Council will also try to go out for a grant for a new recycling program.

They hope, by applying for the grant from the Akron Solid Waste Management Authority, to implement and improve new and existing recycling programs.
