Council Will Look at 2012 Budget, I-480 Resurfacing Project

We preview tonight's City Council meeting

Twinsburg's 2012 appropriations and a decision on the SR/91 and I-480 resurfacing project will be two items of discussion when city council meets tonight.

Council will begin with the caucus at 7 p.m. and the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Twinsburg Government Center. There will be an executive session at 6:30 p.m. which they will report on once it's over.

As the year ends, council members will decide on the city's budget for 2012. Finance Director Karen Howse has the city's appropriations total at $35.1 million for the next year.

The city's fiscal year begins Jan. 1, 2012 and ends Dec. 31, 2012.

Also, City Council will vote on whether or not to accept the bid from Barbicas Construction, in Akron, to work on the resurfacing project for SR 91/Darrow Road and I-480.

Barbicas had the winning bid at $323,000. City Engineer Amy Mohr estimatest the project will begin in April 2012 and ending in June. The Ohio Department of Transportation and the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study will cover 80 percent of the costs.
