DNC Schedule: Bill Clinton to Speak Wednesday

Democratic leader of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and the U.S. secretaries of Veterans Affairs, Education and Agriculture are also scheduled to speak.

The 2012 Democratic National Convention continues today with remarks beginning again at 5 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. Here’s a look at the speakers on Wednesday’s agenda, based on the full schedule from the convention’s website.

5 to 6 p.m.

  • Luis V. Gutierrez, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois
  • Diana DeGette, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Colorado
  • John A. Pérez, speaker and member of the California State Assembly
  • Thomas M. Menino, mayor of Boston, Massachusetts
  • Judy Chu, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California
  • Steve Westly, former state controller and chief financial officer of California
  • John Larson, Democratic Caucus Chair and member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Connecticut
  • Ken Myers, deputy sheriff of Carroll County, Iowa

This hour will begin with an invocation, the presentation of colors and the national anthem. 

6 to 7 p.m.

  • Richard Trumka, president of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations
  • Steve Israel, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York
  • Patty Murray, chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and member of the U.S. Senate from Washington
  • Pedro R. Pierluisi, chair of National Community Mobilization for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and non-voting member of the U.S. House of Representatives, resident commissioner of Puerto Rico
  • Tom Steyer, co-founder of Advanced Energy Economy
  • Charles E. Schumer, member of the U.S. Senate from New York
  • Karen Bass, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California
  • Al Green, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas
  • Emanuel Cleaver, II, chair of the Congressional Black Caucus and member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri
  • Dannel Malloy, governor of Connecticut

7 to 8 p.m.

  • Jack Markell, governor of Delaware

9 to 10 p.m.

There will also be a benediction from Rabbi David Wolpe of the Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, California.
