Early 'Signs' Point to Electronic Board at City Hall

Mayor Katherine Procop said the city may look into installing an electronic sign in front of the government center.

Twinsburg Mayor Katherine Procop brought a "bright" idea before city council Tuesday night: Install an electronic sign in front of .

“I think it’s attractive and a great way to communicate,” Procop said.

She thinks it would be a great addition to use with the new Blackboard Connect system the city plans to implement. In March the city signed a contract with Blackboard to provide messages and alerts to residents.

“The whole thing would tie together seamlessly,” Procop said.

The sign at the library cost $32,000, including the brick work. If built, money would be taken out of the city's general fund.

Procop said she would get estimates to bring back to council, possibly going out to bid in the near future.

“I think the sign for the library has been successful and it fits in,” Council President Ted Yates said. He would be willing to entertain bid offers soon.

“If we do this we might look at an alternative side closer to the driveway,” Procop said, adding she didn’t want to see it right beside the library’s sign.

The sign at city hall currently sits between the government center and the , directly across the street from the library's sign.
