Election Season Gets Rolling as Candidates File

We give you the list of elections and candidates for the November 8 general election

Whether you are ready for it or not, the 2011 election season is starting to heat up.

The filing deadline for candidates was Wednesday, August 10 and there are several positions up for a vote in Twinsburg, several of which are unopposed.

Incumbent, Mayor Katherine Procop, will be running for the position without any competition in November.

Other seats without opponent also include Council-At-Large candidate Bill Furey (Clarius Circle) and Ward 1 Councilman Sam Scaffide (Deeplake Circle).

In Ward 2, encumbent Bob McDermott (Hickory Hill Drive) will be running against Daisy Walker (Waldo Way) and Shelia Williams (Jennifer Drive).

Ward 3 Councilman Ted Yates (Darien Lane) will run for re-election against Steve Murphy (Ashdale Drive).

The Twinsburg Board of Education will see two familiar faces running again as current Board President Ron Stuver (Trailwood Drive) and Vice President Kate Cain-Criswell (Kerwick Court) have filed.
