Library Looking for Two Trustees Members

The Twinsburg Public Library is in need of two people who can help with its non-profit foundation.

The Twinsburg Public Library Foundation, which is a non-profit, is looking for two residents who are energetic and results-oriented to serve on the board of trustees. 

The foundation provides support for the library through various fundraisers throughout the year and by seeking out voluntary contributions. The foundation also pays for the library’s membership to the Foundation Center Cooperating Collection, providing access to grant databases and materials that the Library could not otherwise afford, according to information on its website

The foundation is also responsible for paying for the outdoor reading garden, the electronic sigh, landscaping and garden improvements outside.

Here is a list of the duties foundation members have:

  • Determining foundation priorities
  • Overseeing foundation finances: including budgets, campaigns, investments and plan and organize fundraisers
  • Trustees also serve as advocates for the library in the community.
The most important role on the board is to serve as an advocate for the library in the greater community, according to a statement on the library's website.

The Board meets quarterly with additional meetings for fundraising committees. There is no monetary contribution required to serve on the board. 

To be considered for the position, residents should submit a letter of interest outlining experience with the community and non-profit groups, involvement with the Twinsburg Public Library or Twinsburg School District or event planning and fundraising.
