Metro Parks Plans Nature Center At Liberty Park

The roughly $800,000 nature center will be rustic and built in the northwest corner of the park.

The Metro Parks, Serving Summit County, plan to build a nature center at Liberty Park in Twinsburg.

The Metro Parks envision a small "cabin-like" building with park information and exhibits and displays to educate visitors about the park's environmental resources, including the ledges, the wetlands and the native wildlife, according to Nathan Eppink, a spokesman for Metro Parks, Serving Summit County.

There's no opening date announced yet, but the Metro Parks hopes to break ground on the project this year.

The center is expected to cost about $800,000. An architecture firm and an environmental firm have been hired to create building, landscape and exhibit plans.

Liberty Park off of Post Road currently contains a bike path and the Twinsburg Ledges Trail.
