Here is a rundown of what actions City Council took Tuesday night:

  • Council voted 7-0 in favor of adding or boilers to a list of items that are restricted within the city. Outdoor furnaces are typically used to heat water that is transferred into the home for heat and other uses.
  • They unanimously approved the bid of Chagrin Valley Paving in Chagrin Falls to to pave the service drive and walkways of Chamberlin Park for $258,909.
  • Council approved a resolution 7-0 that allows the city to contract with the Twinsburg City School District for the use of buses for city recreation programs such as camps. They lease the buses from the district on a yearly basis.
  • Unanimous approval was given to pay off a State Infrastructure Bank (SIB) Loan of $1.2 million. It was not in the original budget because the city didn't know at the time what the rates would be to refinance the loan.
  • Gave approval 7-0 for the Glen Eagles Golf Course to bid on a new pump station. The cost was estimated at $115,000.

  • The first reading of an ordinance that would appoint two teenage members from Twinsburg High School to sit on the Environmental Commission for a two-year term with the typical salary.
  • The first reading of an ordinance that would amend legislation regarding outside sales and storage. Read the full story .
  • Council heard the first reading of an ordinance that would appropriate funds to the wastewater department to budget for the purchase of a screw pump using Capital Improvement Funds. The money is sitting in an account, unused, specifically for wastewater use.
