Twinsburg Bulletin: City Joins Anti-Poaching Group

Twinsburg joined with 18 other Summit County communities in an effort to stop job poaching in the county

Twinsburg, along with 18 other communities within Summit County, has signed an agreement that to stop job poaching between neighboring communities, according to the Twinsburg Bulletin.

The 2011 Job Preservation and Revenue Sharing Agreement is a one-year agreement starting this month and ending in July 2012. If a large employer relocates to another community that is a member of the agreement, both communities will share that payroll tax revenue for three to five years.

However, if a community uses financial incentives, such as high percentage tax abatements, to entice a business to move, the tax revenue has to be shared no matter the size of the business, the Twinsburg Bulletin reports.
