Twinsburg Patch Gearing Up for Election Coverage

Yes, it's only June. But election season is coming fast and Twinsburg Patch will have what you need to know

The pivotal November 2012 election is still months away but that doesn't mean Twinsburg Patch is waiting for it. We're already getting our election coverage started.

Obviously the biggest draw this year will be the presidential race. While it's a national issue, you can be sure if any of the candidates or their supporters are rallying in Twinsburg, we'll be there.

Another race we'll be keeping an eye on is the senate race between incumbent Sherrod Brown and challenger Josh Mandel. The mudslinging has already started for this one and if either of them brings a campaign to Twinsburg, we're on it.

Don't forget about the Ohio House District 37 race, which includes Twinsburg. Rep. Incumbent Republican Kristina Roegner faces Democratic challenger Tom Schmida, of Twinsburg.

Local Issues

It isn't official yet, but it seems likely there will be some type of levy on the ballot for the . Once it's official we'll have all the details and reactions leading up to the crucial vote in November.

The city will have four issues before it on the ballot. All of them were previously approved by voters in 2009 but weren't properly advertised, so they are going back to a vote.

They include updated criteria and standards for hiring the law director, the zoning classifaction of annexed land from the township, changing a section of the charter combining two commissions and a mandate that council must approve any changes by the charter review commission go to the ballot.
