Two of Three City Council Races Contested in November

Both Wards 4 and 5 will be contested on Nov. 5.

There will be two Twinsburg City Council races to follow in November.

Both Wards 4 and 5 will be contested on the Nov. 5 ballot while the Gary Sorace will be unchallenged for his at-large seat.

Here are the other races, according to the Summit County Board of Elections

Ward 4

  • Maureen Stauffer (incumbent)
  • Maher Holozdah
Ward 5
  • Seth Rodin (incumbent)
  • Steve Shebeck
Sorace, while unopposed, said he wanted to run because he didn't feel like his work was finished yet.

"I came here with a purpose," he said. "The city's in the best shape it's ever been. Despite a few setbacks we're doing a fantastic job, but my goals aren't completed yet."

Sorace said council is not finished with infrastructure, development of roads and catching up on things that were put off for several years.

"I want to make sure that the community is taken care of," he said.

Shebeck has opted to run for city council this time around, relinquishing his current seat on the Twinsburg Board of Education. There will be eight candidates for three spots on the school board in November.
