Mayor Katherine Procop and Twinsburg City Council honored Chaplain Kevin Maxey with a proclamation at Tuesday night's meeting.
Maxey began his role as safety chaplain in 2000. He started working with the Twinsburg Fire Department while he was the senior pastor at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
He shared his services with the police department in 2006 and was there to help the department during the loss of Officer Joshua Miktarian in 2008.
Maxey is moving on to serve at Hope Lutheran Church in Toledo.
