Quick Notes: Board of Education Honors Teachers, State Champs

Here is a quick hit of happenings from tonight's Twinsburg Board of Education meeting

Tonight the Twinsburg Board of Education covered a few items at their meeting in the Twinsburg Government Center.

Here's a quick list of some of what they covered:

  • The board honored teachers and faculty who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Board members and administrators praised their accomplishments and honored them with gifts. Look for photos tomorrow on Twinsburg Patch.
  • The board also honored the 2011 OHSAA Division 1 State Champion Lady Tigers for their amazing accomplishment this season. The Tigers were the first Twinsburg team to win a state championship and the only undefeated girls basketball team in the state. Superintendent Stephen Marlow said the city is working on creating signs coming into the city for their accomplishment.
  • They unanimously voted in favor of joining an agreement with the Ohio Schools Council (and participating schools) to purchase power services from First Energy Solutions. The agreement locks in a rate of five cents per kilowatt-hour until May 2014.
