School Board Will Look at Raising Lunch Prices

The Board of Education will vote on raising the price of school lunches next year by 25 cents

An important lesson in life is there's no such thing as a free lunch. And after tonight, the price of lunches for Twinsburg City Schools could go up for next year.

The Board of Education will vote on whether the district will raise school lunch prices by 25 cents next year, Assistant Superintendent Mike Lenzo said.

The high school, R.B. Chanberlin, and Dodge Intermediate will go from $2.50 to $2.75 while Bissell Elementary and Wilcox Primary will go from $2.25 up to $2.50.

Lenzo said that they have kept the cost the same for several years, but because of rising food and gas prices, the district needs to make a change.

Lunch prices in other areas schools are still higher than at Twinsburg, he said.

“There’s not too many that are lower than us,” Lenzo said.

The board will also look at an agreement with Kent State University to use students from excercise science and training classes to continue their education and training at Twinsburg City Schools.
