Twinsburg City Schools to Make Up Calamity Day This Week

The school district decided on Feb. 18 to make up for the extra calamity day

While students may have enjoyed their snow day a few weeks ago, they will have to make it up this week.

The Twinsburg City School District announced that Friday, Feb. 18, would be the day students will attend school to make up for the extra calamity day.

The state of Ohio changed the number of days allowed from five to three for the 2010-2011 school year, and a bill that would add two extra days has not been passed yet.

Because they have already used up all of the allowed days, the district said its contingency plan is to use spring break for any extra calamity days.
