Twinsburg Grads Honored by Their Universities

Some of Twinsburg's finest are making a name for themselves at the collegiate level

Several college students from Twinsburg have been busy making names for themselves.

Bridget Byers, of Twinsburg, is a member of the class of 2013 at Connecticut College. Byers was named to the Dean's High Honors list for the 2011 fall semester.

At Connecticut College, Dean's Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.66, and Dean's High Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.78.

Situated on the coast of southern New England, Connecticut College is a highly selective private liberal arts college with 1,900 students from all across the country and throughout the world.

Christy Marchiando, of Twinsburg, a sophomore College of Arts and Sciences student at Creighton University was named to the fall Dean's List for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Full-time students who earn a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the Dean's Honor Roll.

Creighton University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution located in Omaha, Neb., enrolls more than 4,200 undergraduate and 3,500 professional school and graduate students.

Bellarmine University has named Twinsburg's Briana Leahy to the dean's list for fall 2011.

Leahy is a freshman majoring in pre-nursing general. She previously attended Walsh Jesuit High School.

The dean's list recognizes students who receive a grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Bellarmine University is an independent Catholic university in Louisville, Ky., offering more than 50 majors, as well as graduate degree programs and doctoral programs in nursing, physical therapy and education.

The following local residents were among nearly 800 students from The University of Toledo who made the Fall 2011 President's List for their outstanding academic accomplishments:

Lindsay Hazelden, a Doctor of Pharmacy major and resident of Twinsburg, OH.

Abigail Rabatin, a Doctor of Pharmacy major and resident of Twinsburg, OH.

The President's List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester.

The University of Toledo, established in 1872, is a diverse, student-centered public metropolitan research university.
