Two Twinsburg Schools Will See New Leadership Next Year

The Twinsburg Board of Education hired two new principals for Wilcox Primary and Bissell Elementary on Wednesday night

Both and will have new faces leading the way in the next school year.

On Wednesday night the board of education unanimously approved and introduced the new principal for each school.

Lynn Villa was named the new principal for Wilcox and Misty Johnson will fill the role for Bissell, with both positions starting on July 26.

Villa served as the assistant principal at Hudson High School. She was glad to return to Wilcox, where she served one year as assistant principal nine years ago.

“I am excited and thrilled to be the new principal at Wilcox,” Villa said.

Johnson has served in education for that past 15 years as a teacher and guidance counselor before becoming the assistant principal at Bedford High School.

“I look forward to joining a new family and thank you for the opportunity,” Johnson said to the board on Wednesday.

Assistant Superintendent Mike Lenzo said although it was a tough decision, the administration believes it made the right choice.

“They are focused, positive, energetic, excited, and of course, excellent,” Lenzo said.

“In the end, I think people will be very pleased with the candidates we selected,” said board president Ron Stuver. “They seem like fine individuals with good background and good experience and I think they’ll be just fine moving into the district.”

The new hires will replace Bissell prinicipal Sharon Sanders and Wilcox prinicipal Judith Latin. Both are retiring at the end of the school year.
