The event will be held at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the Twinsburg Fitness Center

The Duathlon begins at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Mickey Rzymek, president of North Coast Multisports, expects 300 participants in the event that will include a 10-mile bike ride sandwiched between a pair of two-mile runs.

"We've got people from four different states this year — people coming from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio," Rzymek said. "(Attracting people from far away) just shows how strong the athletic community is in Twinsburg."

Among the 200 or so people already registered are Twinsburg firefighter Jim Woolf and police Lt. Those who are interested in signing up can do so until 5 p.m. Saturday as part of the . That event begins at 1 p.m. and will be held at the .

For curious, potential participants, Rzymek describes the Duathlon as a good way to get acclimated to endurance sports. The two-miles runs will be on held on a combination of trails and roads. The bike path will include Routes 82, 91 and Chamberlain Road.

Rzymek added that people can also establish relay teams so that one person can do the runs and a partner can handle the bike portion. The top male and female finishers will receive awards at the event's conclusion.
