Twinsburg Wrestlers Preparing for Tourney Road

The Tigers look to make a strong showing all the way to the state championship

As the dual meet season draws to a close, the Twinsburg Tiger wrestling team has an eye on the upcoming OHSAA Tournament trail that will end in Columbus on March 1-3. 

Action will be very competitive for the Tigers, who hope to contend with a standout squad.

Leading the way for the Tigers is senior Michael Baker. Baker is the defending 171 pound state champion and Division I MVP.

Mike Labry, placed third at 125 pounds for Twinsburg in 2011, and is certain to contend for the title this year.

The Tigers are looking to turn some heads in sectional competition beginning on Friday, Feb. 17 at Austintown Fitch High School.  The top four place winners will be bracketed to the Mentor District on Feb. 24 to vie for the coveted spot on the podium in Columbus.
