Twinsburg/Medina Football Game Voted Billboard Game of the Week

You did it, Twinsburg! Friday night's NOC match-up will be featured on six digital billboards across Summit County

Apparently the "Eye of the Tiger" trumps the "Luck of the Irish."

The Twinsburg Tigers versus the Medina Bees game received 17 more votes than the three other matchups on a Billboard Game of the Week Facebook poll, including the St. Vincent St. Mary/Buchtel game.

Friday's matchup will now be featured on six digital billboards in Summit County, beginning today.

There are six digital billboards that the game will be advertised on:

  • I-277 west of S.R. 93 in Manchester
  • Two billboards I-77 north of S.R. 162 on Copley Road (one facing south and one facing north)
  • Two billboards on S.R. 8 north of I-76 (one facing north and one facing south)
  • I-76 west of S.R. 91 on Canton Road

Clear Channel Outdoor, which manages the billboards and the program, estimates that about 1.5 million see the digital billboards during commutes.

The billboard design will run today, tomorrow and during the game at Medina at 7 p.m.

After the game, the billboard will announce the winning team as well as some highlights and headlines from the game, said Clear Channel Outdoor's Akron/Canton Area Manager Megan Waite.

Possible things posted on the billboard will be "leading scorers, leading rushers, props to the cheerleaders or marching bands ... just some statements to actually highlight the game and some of the athletes and other important students involved in the excitement," she said.
