The 5-foot 9-inch senior told The Plain Dealer "Wow" Wednesday after finding out she is this year's Ms. Basketball in Ohio.
Although Ashley Morrissette was nearly speechless, her statistics speak for her:
- 19.1 average points
- 6.5 assists
- 5 rebounds
- 5 steals
- 1 blocked shot
- 50 percent shooting from the field
- 82 percent shooting from the line
Her list of accalaids doesn't stop with the most recent title of Ms. Basketball. This year, she was also named All-Northeast Lakes District Player of the Year and Player of the Year on the Division I All-Ohio Team, according to The Plain Dealer.
The team, which is no doubt led by Morrissette and other talented players, is headed to its third straight trip to the final four.
