He went the University of Michigan, is teammates with Tom Brady and Tim Tebow on the New England Patriots and has been to the Super Bowl.

Still, Twinsburg graduate Zoltan Mesko was only an honorable mention in The Plain Dealer's list of the top 50 high school football players over last 50 years.

Mesko, who earned Northeast Ohio Inland All-District Division II honors at Twinsburg High in 2003, played at Michigan in college and was signed by the Patriots in 2010.

He graduated from Twinsburg in 2005 and is remembered as one of the best punters in the area.

Mesko was originally born in Romania and moved to Twinsburg as a child.

His deeds speak for itself. If the PD cannot recognize it, then they are truly mistaken. Just look at all he does OFF the field for his community.

I understand the hometown connection, and Rob, I believe you when you say he is a great person, but don't hammer the PD and its selection committee for not choosing him. The selection criteria was based on high school football accomplishments only, and not what has been done in college, the pros, or off the field accomplishments. Some players on the list did not even make it to the pros or complete a college career.
