I am an Iraq War Veteran and training dogs has changed my life. I love seeing how far you can take aRead More crazy but cute puppy and turn him into a reliable policing tool! Check out www.barefacedandbrash.com to see how I trained my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog to be a service dog.

What is the age that kids are allowed to stay home by themselves?

If you feel your 9 year old is mature and responsible enough to stay at home, can take care ofRead More themself, and knows emergency procedures, what is the issue? We don't know how long she was left home or expected to be by herself. So do not condemn the father without knowing all the facts. And if a parent leaves a child at home who does not meet the criteria above, then they will have to deal with the consequences from law enforcement, child services, etc. Now in this situation, if the girl called 911, maybe she wasn't responsible enough to be alone. But don't pass judgement on this father.
