Devon Conwell, a student at Theodore Roosevelt High in Kent, died Wednesday during a basketball event in Twinsburg
Students at Theodore Roosevelt High School are struggling with the loss of a fellow student and friend today. Devon Conwell, a sophomore at Theodore Roosevelt, died Wednesday unexpectedly during a basketball practice in Twinsburg. The Twinsburg Bulletin reports that Conwell likely died of cardiac arrest during a basketball practice. Kent City Schools Superintendent Joseph Giancola told the Record-Courier that grief counselors are at the high school and available to students as they grieve. Conwell's Facebook page turned into a real-time memorial as friends posted goodbye messages Thursday. "You were always the one to make me laugh," Maria Monaee wrote on Conwell's page. Susan L. Wargo, 97, of Twinsburg, passed away on Jan. 10
Susan L. Wargo, 97, of Twinsburg, a beloved wife and loving mother, passed away on Jan. 10. She was 97. She is survived by a daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John B. "Jack" Carson, 93, of Garfield Heights was a Navy Veteran who will be buried in Twinsburg.
John B. "Jack" Carson, A World War II veteran who lived in Garfield Heights, has died at the age of 93 and will be buried in Twinsburg on Wednesday. Funeral services were held in Twinsburg over the weekend.
Frances Hornig, 77, passed away recently. She was the mother of six, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of one, according to the Plain Dealer. Hornig was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 686 and a "generous contributor" to many charities, the paper reported. Services were held at SS Cosmas & Damien Church over the holiday weekend. Janina Richards, 87, passed away on Nov. 10. Richards, born in Poland, spent the last six years in Twinsburg, according to the Plain Dealer. She became a U.S. citizen in 1959 and became the first woman machinist at Webco Machine Products, they reported. Richards left behind a daughter. Darrell E. Hawks, 56, of Twinsburg passed away on Nov. 15. Hawks leaves behind a wife and three kids and three siblings, according to the Plain Dealer. He was a grandfather of four. Charles Cheyfitz, 82, of Twinsburg, has passed away. He was the father of three children, grandfather of four and great grandfather of five, according to the Plain Dealer.
