Woman Charged With Hitting Pole and Fleeing While Driving Drunk

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A 51-year-old Twinsburg woman was arrested for hitting a light pole and driving off while drunk on Sunday. According to police, officers responded to Glenwood and Ridgewood Drives for a report of a car that struck a light pole and was leaving the scene of the accident. The caller stayed on the phone with police and told them where the car was gong. The car was in a driveway on the 1700 block of Glenwood Drive with visible damage to the right front bumper area. The driver was identified and found to be driving drunk. The woman was arrested and refused to submit to a breath test. She was charged drunken driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to control.

Unconscious Man Charged With Drunken Driving, Possession

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A 22-year-old Twinsburg man was found unconcious in his car by Twinsburg police on I-480 on May 19. Once officers were able to wake him, they discovered he was driving under the influence and on a suspended license. The man also had an active warrant through the Brooklyn Police Department. Police found a small bag of marijuana and rolling papers in the car. The man was charged with drunken driving, driving under a suspended license and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Man on Motorcycle Charged With Drunken Driving, Child Had No Helmet

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A 64-year-old Twinsburg man was stopped on his motorcycle by Twinsburg police on May 17 after an officer saw a young child riding on the gas tank in front of the driver without a helmet at the 8900 block of Hadden Road. After speaking with the driver, the man admitted to drinking. He was charged with child endangerment, drunken driving, expired plates and driving under suspension.

Authorities Looking for Fugitive Wanted for Murder During Dice Game

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Demetrice Cannon.

  Demetrice Cannon, 28, is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Cleveland Police for aggravated murder.  It is alleged that Cannon shot and killed a man after an argument during a dice game, according to a press release. The incident took place earlier this month on May 2.    Cannon is a black male standing approximately 5’05” and weighing 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Cannon is suspected to be hiding out somewhere in the Cleveland area. He also had a previous address near the 1200 block of E. 80th St. in Cleveland. Man Charged With Threatening Movers With Gun

A 34-year-old Twinsburg man was charged with aggravated menacing after he threatened movers with a gun, according to Twinsburg Police. The man's ex-wife was moving out of the house and at about 10 a.m. on May 15 the man threatened the movers with a gun, according to a police report. Officers went to the Alling Drive home and spoke to the people involved and the ex-husband was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated menacing. He was taken to the Solon Jail.

Rash of Rent Money Thefts Reported

Thieves have targeted certain areas in 13 northeast Ohio cities, including Twinsburg, according to our partners at NewsNet5.com.

Our partners at NewsChannel5 have uncovered reports of thefts from apartment complex rent drop boxes in 13 Northeast Ohio towns, including Twinsburg.   The towns and cities that have targeted by rent drop box thieves include Broadview Heights, Brunswick, Brimfield Township, Coventry Township, Cuyahoga Falls, Jackson Township, Medina, Montville, North Royalton, Perry Township, Strongsville, Stow and Twinsburg. Surveillance cameras at Wyoga Lake Commons in Cuyahoga Falls captured a theft on May 2. In the video, you see the thief insert a wire with a sticky substance on it into the complex's rent drop box. Drunken Driving Checkpoint in Portage County Saturday Night

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the checkpoint it announced earlier this week was will be in Portage County Saturday evening.  The exact location of the drunken driving checkpoint will be known Saturday morning.  The checkpoint is funded by federal grant funds and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers, according to a press release from the Ravenna post. "Based on provisional data, there were 452 OVI-related fatal crashes in which 494 people were killed last year in Ohio," Lt. Man Arrested For Assaulting Girlfriend

A 22-year-old Twinsburg man was charged with domestic violence after police say he left his girlfriend bruised and bleeding in her car, according to Twinsburg Police. The man was taken to Solon Jail and is being held without bond. According to the police report, on May 11 at about 11 p.m. the Twinsburg Police Department went to a home and found a 23-year-old woman sitting in her car, bruised and bleeding. The woman said her boyfriend assaulted her and then drove away in his truck, according to the police report. Police caught up with him on Darrow Road and he was arrested.

9-Year-Old Left Home Alone Calls 911

The information in this report is from the Twinsburg Police.

A 9-year-old girl in Twinsburg said she accidentally called 911 after she was left home alone by her father, according to Twinsburg Police. A police officer went to the Darrow Park Drive home and spoke to the girl, who said she dialed the emergency number accidentally and confirmed she was home alone. No arrests were made, but children services were contacted and informed of the incident which occured May 12 at about 9:30 a.m., according to the police report. The girl's father was contacted at work and advised by police to come home.
