Bissell Elementary School is closed this morning because a water line break is affecting water service to the school. Superintendent Kathryn Powers said all other schools are in session as usual. All evening activities at Bissell, including tonight's Latchkey program, are canceled.
The Twinsburg Rotary Club passed out the personalized, labeled dictionaries to Miss Bilinski’s on Wednesday.
Each year the Twinsburg Rotary Club gives dictionaries to all third graders in the Twinsburg School District. The dictionary project is part of Rotary International’s literacy project. Twinsburg third graders have been receiving dictionaries since 2004.

Shayla Smith, a second-grade student at Bissell Elementary, will be on air with Je'Rod Cherry, a host of Three-Deep, on ESPN 850 WKNR from 7:30-8 p.m. Smith won the guest spot as part of Bissell's two-week Read-A-Thon. The programs goal was to raise $10,000 and have the students read more than 185,000 minutes. Official results will be tallied Friday. Cherry participated in the reading program's kickoff. "He was very inspiring and the kids were so pumped to participate," PTO Secretary Joanne Schuas said. Bissell, along with Archbishop Lyke School and Clark K-8 school in Cleveland, was selected by the Cleveland Cavavliers and Lake Erie Monsters for the chance to have a classroom, hallway, gymnasium or other space repainted by Glidden Paint in the Colorful Community Contest.
