Mayor Procop: Sentences In Miktarian's Case 'Disappointing'

Mayor Katherine Procop released a statement reacting to the sentences of the two women who aided the killer of Joshua Miktarian

Mayor Katherine Procop called the sentences handed down Wednesday against two women who aided the murderer of Joshua Miktarian "disappointing." Bridget Robinson and Danielle Roberson were each given two years of probation, with Roberson also receiving six months of house arrest. These sentences were the maximum allowed by Ohio law for the charges they pleaded guilty to, felony obstruction of justice, according to Twinsburg Police. Women Who Helped Miktarian's Killer Apologize In Court

Bridget Robinson, of Solon, and Danielle Roberson, of Akron, expressed remorse for the death of Joshua Miktarian but also gave reasons for their actions that night.

Bridget Robinson and Danielle Roberson expressed remorse for the death of a Twinsburg Police officer Wednesday before a judge handed out sentences to both of them. Robinson, of Solon, and Roberson, of Akron, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice, a felony, for their roles in trying to help Ashford Thompson the night he murdered Twinsburg Police Officer Joshua Miktarian. Robinson is Thompson's sister. Roberson was his girlfriend. Thompson was convicted of murdering Miktarian and now awaits execution in an Ohio prison. The women were sentenced to two years of probation and fined. Roberson will serve six months of home confinement. Women Who Helped Miktarian's Killer Get Maximum Sentences

Bridget Robinson, 37, of Solon, and Danielle Roberson, 27, of Akron, were not sentenced to prison Feb. 6 for their role in the murder of Twinsburg Police officer Joshua Miktarian.

The two women who tried to help the killer of Twinsburg Police Officer Joshua Miktarian will not be going to prison but received the maximum sentences allowed by Ohio law. Bridget Robinson, 37, of Solon, and Danielle Roberson, 27, of Akron, received suspended sentences from Judge Daniel Gaul in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Please for their role in trying to help killer Ashford Thompson get away. The two women who aided the killer of Twinsburg Police officer Joshua Miktarian will be sentenced Feb. 6 for their role in the murder. Twinsburg Police Chief Chris Noga said that Bridget Robinson and Danielle Roberson will be sentenced that day for their role in trying to help killer Ashford Thompson get away. Robinson is Thompson's sister and Roberson is his ex-girlfriend. Robinson and Roberson both plead guilty earlier this month to obstruction of justice, a felony. Both women were arrested by the U.S. Marshall's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in May 2012. Both women tried to help Thompson escape after he shot Miktarian during a taffic stop.
