Get ready, burrito fans. Chipotle in Twinsburg is under construction. The company broke ground this week on the new location for the popular burrito chain located at 2640 Creekside Drive. Chipotle is expected to open this summer. Krista Hunter with Red Architects has said the new building is a prototype for the company, with a mixture of indoor/outdoor seating. The company had previously received approval from the city for patio dining. The company plans to lean heavily on business from the Kent State University Regional Academic Center, which opened a new building in Twinsburg last year.

The Twinsburg City Council unanimously approved plans for an outdoor patio at the Chipotle that will be built on Creekside Drive.
Twinsburg will get a new Chipotle next year, and that Chipotle will have an outdoor patio. This week, the Twinsburg City Council unanimously approved a permit to allow Chipotle to build an outdoor patio for customers. The Chipotle will be built on Creekside Drive. If all goes according to plan, Twinsburg will be chowing down on Chipotle burritos very soon. On Monday planning commission gave preliminary site plan approval for a new Chipotle Mexican Grill to be built on Creekside Drive. Krista Hunter with Red Architects said they hope to break ground in March for the restaurant. The new building is a prototype for the company, she said, with a mixture of indoor/outdoor seating. The company will lean heavily on business from the Kent State University Regional Academic Center. "This is a site the Kent students will probably use," Hunter said. The beloved burrito chain Chipotle could present plans to city next month
Chipotle Mexican Grill, famous for its burritos and tacos, could be stuffing a location in Twinsburg soon. Planning Director Larry Finch said Chipotle has expressed interest in building on a lot on Creekside Drive, behind Fifth-Third Bank. Finch said the burrito chain could even have preliminary site plans before planning commission by September. "We've had some discussion with designers," Finch said. "They're considering whether they'll get things in place or not based on lot limitations." There are some challenges with sewer easements and possible signage issues, he said, so it's not a done deal just yet.
