Fugitive Wanted for Obstruction of Justice after High Speed Chase

Emmitt Smith is wanted by U.S. Marshals as the Fugitive of the Week.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Emmitt Smith a.k.a. “E."    Smith is wanted by the U.S. Marshals for violating conditions of his federal supervised release. Smith is also wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for obstruction of justice.   Smith is accused of performing adrug transaction on Nov. 14, 2012. When Cleveland police attempted to stop Smith, he led them on a high speed chase, driving through several lawns and endangering public safety. Smith, 30, is a black male standing approximately 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 245 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Smith is suspected to be hiding out somewhere on the westside Cleveland. …

Man Tells Police He Usually Drives at 190 MPH

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

This guy will readily admit: He has the need for speed. Joseph Emrick, 49, of Windham, was charged with drunken driving and reckless operation after Twinsburg police clocked his car flying down I-480 at 115 mph. While finishing up one traffic stop on Nov. 4 just before 3 a.m. when they were alerted about a car going about 120 mph on the highway. Once police found him they noticed he was weaving across the road and he was still gaining speed. Emrick admitted to speeding and failed field sobriety tests, according to police. However, the biggest shocker to police was what he told them after. While sitting in the back of a cruiser, he told officers that he "regularly travels I-480 at speeds of 160 to 190 mph," according to the report. But he …

Man Leads Police on 110 MPH Chase

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A Parma man led Twinsburg police on a dangerous high-speed chase on Oct. 12, reaching speeds of 111 mph. According to police, officers pulled over a car on East Aurora Road for weaving, eventually striking the curb by the McDonald's. After talking to the driver, Frank Neumann, 24, of Parma, police thought he had been drinking, so they asked him to get out of his car for a field sobriety test. Neuman refused, even locking the doors as the officer tried to open it. Finally, after police unlocked the door, Neumann slammed it shut and sped off going west on I-480, according to the report. Police said they paced his car at 111 mph at one point, as he was weaving in and out of traffic, even striking the side of the bridge over I-271. Neumann …

Motorcycle Leads Police on Chase: The Blotter

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department.

A man led Twinsburg police on a bit of a chase Aug. 29.  Officers tried to stop the man for speeding on I-480 while heading east and pursued the driver through Twinsburg Township. He was eventually stopped and arrested on Hadden Road. The man was charged with eluding police (a felony), obstructing police business, and other traffic violations. Who are you, again? Police found a man who was wanted with a warrant from Twinsburg at the GetGo gas station on Hadden Road on Aug. 30. But while they were speaking with the woman who was driving him, they discovered she had someone else's Ohio ID. High Speed Chase Leads Police Through Twinsburg

The following information was provide by the Twinsburg Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An Aurora woman led police from Macedonia and Twinsburg on a chase that ended on Ravenna Road early on Monday, Aug. 1. Donna Pinchot, 49, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and willfully fleeing and eluding officers. At 3:03 a.m. a Twinsburg officer caught a car speeding eastbound on SR 82 near the former Chrysler plant driving 80 mph. The car was pursued by two Macedonia police cruisers. The officer follwed the chase as Pinchot's speed reached 100 mph. Other officers assisted traffic at the Church Street and SR 91 intersections. The car continued to speed down Ravenna road where it "abruptly came to a stop" near Romeo's Pizza. Pinchot was ordered out of the car and did a field sobriety test before she was taken into …

FBI Releases Suspect Information in Tuesday's Bank Robbery

Dwayne McDaniel of Maple Heights and Charles Compton of Euclid were arrested for Tuesday afternoon's robbery of Key Bank on East Aurora Road

The Cleveland office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation has released the identities of two men arrested for the bank robbery in Twinsburg on Tuesday. Dwayne McDaniel, 35, of Maple Heights and Charles Compton, 31, of Euclid, have been charged with federal bank robbery after stealing from the Key Bank at 2566 E. Aurora Rd. at 2:15 Monday afternoon. FBI Special Agent in Charge Scott Wilson said Compton will appear in Federal court this afternoon and McDaniel, who is still in the hospital, will be in court Wednesday. Wilson wasn't able disclose the amount taken during the robbery. Both men are also under investigation in connection with other robberies in Cuyahoga, Summit, and Lake counties.
