Firefighters will by cycling in to Kent, Stow and Cuyahoga Falls today on their way from California to New York City as part of the Ride for 9-11, which honors the 343 firefighters killed in the terrorist attacks. The full length of the trip? They'll ride 3,300 miles almost non-stop. We all know there is an alternative to taking the elevator, but stairwells aren’t normally the most spectacular sections of buildings. The Cleveland Clinic’s Beachwood Family Health & Surgery Center has decorated its stairwells with murals created by high school students to give the usually drab spaces an aesthetic boost, and to give people another reason to hit the stairs.
