Community Editor Amanda Harnocz wants to interview the people behind the pages everyone in Twinsburg 'likes.'
Do you operate a Facebook page for a local organization, group, business or school in your community? Then I want to talk to you. But first, a quick introduction. I'm Amanda Harnocz, a community editor for Patch. I'm a Facebook and general social media junkie and recently I was put in charge of managing social media sites for many of the Ohio Patch sites. In this year's Deck the House contest, the second time was the charm. Joseph Felix's home in Dallas, GA outshined the other 24 finalists to win the 2012 Deck the House contest and $100,000 for the Paulding County, GA school district. After placing second in the nationwide voting in the 2011 contest, the Felix home received nearly 11,000 votes this year to finally win Deck the House. The home, with 100,000 computer animated holiday lights choreographed to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You," received about 300 more votes than a home in Coventry, R.I., which finished in second place. Judging by the 80 comments on the Felixes' Deck the House submission, visiting the home has become a holiday tradition in Dallas, a suburb about 45…

The partnership makes sense because we believe that when local commerce grows, the whole community gets stronger. Patch already provides free listings for local businesses and other tools to help build local brands. Whether you're a 10-year-old jewelry designer or a 79-year-old who carves wood knives…

We'll be in Mentor for another type of event soon, and we hope you'll join us then. And we'd love to have you take part in our chat tonight. Thanks for commenting.   more ›
