Property Tax Rates In Twinsburg To Increase By 10 Percent

Property tax rates in Twinsburg will increase substantially in 2013, according to a database produced in the Plain Dealer. The tax rates that property owners pay to fund various governments from the schools to the library system will increase more than 9 percent, according to the newspaper's data. According to the Plain Dealer, Twinsburg homeowners will pay $1,832 per $100,000 of home value in their 2013 tax bills, up from $1,674 per $100,000 last year. The general trend has been higher and higher taxes each year for Twinsburg property owners. Three years ago, homeowners were paying $1,597 per $100,000. You will not ever see or hear the word "permanent" connected to this levy. Ballot language states it is a renewal levy for a continuing period of time. Which means it won't be presented for a vote again. BOE has until March 15 to decide if this renewal levy vote will be in May or November and whether it will be a renewal for a continuing period or a renewal for five years.   more ›
